Living in Hanoi
We didn't venture out into the residential areas of Hanoi - there was so much to see in the old quarter - but I did wonder where do folk live and what type of decor they have - this place is in Hanoi - I love the tiles - in fact was really tempted to forgo shoes and clothes and pack tiles to bring home!! Real Estate stalking in .....St Kilda Vic
Love this house - owned by our friends who are making country /sea change - renovation is timeless and the location is a winner - just a short stroll to Acland St.. St Kilda is so vibrant - there is rear access (so you can have off street parking) the house is really versatile- you can either close of the first floor and have separated rental dwelling or incorporate it into the house- endless options. It a very relaxing space and while on a busy road I didn't ever notice traffic noise one inside
The front of the house - on Carlise St |
The Kitchen the two square steel things on the back wall and bins- they connect to the large council bin so no need for a separate bin inside the house. |
Kitchen and dining area - the kitchen is very user friendly |
View into the house for the front door |
Upstairs bathroom - roomy ad very functional |
Bedroom upstairs |
The upstairs - could be used as rental income or part of the house |
The upstairs "deck" area. |

Vietnam
Vietnam - I loved it - what a spectacular place - where to start - Ha Noi was perfect - slower paced, the food was fresh and I just wanted more, we rode bicycle's around and had the best time just relaxing watching life in the Ancient town over a few G&T's and fresh spring rolls. We went without the children, so great to have time to ourselves but I did miss them terribly.
Ha Long Bay - hauntingly spectacular - it was over cast the three days were were there - we did a two night boat trip and that was just fantastic - kayaking into the most tranquil lagoons.
Hanoi - hectic and at first I was completely overwhelmed but once over the initial shock loved the place - it is vibrant, the old quarter was just alive, our hotel was smack bang in the middle. I could have spent at least two more days in Hanoi, so much to discover so so many more places to eat at, but next time.
We are planning a trip back with the kids.
