Colour my day - with art

I do like a modern edge look in a house - white walls, lack of clutter - but I also like the homey feel of art - I don't mean an Monet masterpiece left and centre - but just quirky bits of art  - all framed an uniformed...so if money was plentiful who would I hang...David Band, Michael Jenkins and some Banksy...

Destination ..Redfern, NSW

A 5 bedroom 4 bathroom home in Redfern looks like it was at one time two terrace homes that have been converted into one- no price is listed but perhaps I could win lotto...(check out realestate.com.au) Love the use of orange - gives it a pop of colour without being too overwhelming.

I could rest my head here!!

Really like the coir mat as a bath mat.

great view through the house

Fancy a cocktail on the deck anyone??

Temple & Webster

Thanks to "the happy home" blog I am now a huge fan of Temple and Webster -  you need to be a member to shop online -and this can mean up to 70% of retail prices - think brands such as Aura, Murchison & Hume, Universal to name but a few!!

Destination - Paris

The city of love, romance and all things that make your tummy flutter. The Mandarin Oriental Paris, 251 rue Saint-Honore.  Now I think I could handle that.

Washing and ironing

I am not sure if there are many people who find the daily grind of washing and ironing enjoyable - for some reason my family cannot seem to get the concept of a laundry basket - apparently the floor is good a place as any to leave all clothes - be they clean or dirty!! Mister A has taken to cleaning up his clothes by shoving - and I mean SHOVING - the clothes into his dresser drawers!!

Our laundry in the new house is not huge but will have enough storage and we will add an extra bench (cheaper to do after build??)  -   I do though hanker after a bigger laundry space - a very illogical desire but I have dreams of being highly organised - with neat lines of laundry all stacked away  - the linen cupboard organised and labelled  - and the laundry basket at some time during the week empty (okay perhaps that is taking the dream too far).

Rocking

The love of my life is very very keen on building a rock cage wall - the problem is where??  One thought is that we have this as the pool wall - and that we have a water feature that trickles down the wall  - but then I like the idea of a rock cage wall as the front courtyard wall - great view from the road... the jury is still out on the location but all members are in favour of the rock cage wall...

Study area

SO we have the massive hallway in our new home - and one section will be used as a activity Kids TV area and another area will be for a study  - I am not really keen on the boys having  computers in their rooms as I like to be able to see what they access - but how to make a study area blend into a hallway  - that is the task...

Love the idea but not sure the boys would be so tidy!!
(via  klikk)

now this would be dual purpose - study and TV area!!

ARCO Lamp

I have been drooling about this lamp for some time - and just recently I purchased one  - it is a copy  and yes I do have a moral issues with the purchase of replica items- but really some of me thinks that old adage -the best form of flattery is imitation!!!!

As you know we are renting while we build and I had the perfect spot for the lamp - but alas the ceiling is toooo low - so the lamp has to go into storage until we move to our new house which will be able to accommodate the lamp as our kitchen/living area ceiling is 35 courses high!!!!

So until then I shall have to dream about the lamp and how it will  all work in our new home....

(TRUST ME)
