Real estate stalking... in Mt Claremont

I used to know this house in a former life - there was no second storey and no pool and the house was somewhat less cool and swanky than it stands today - in fact I would often visit this house in it's former life and would dream about what potential it had  - originally the kitchen island was a wall which made for a very poky kitchen area  - a spare $2 mil in the bank and I would have snapped this up!!

Listed here while it lasts.

The driveway used to have a steep decline to the carport - which is now the media room

When I knew this house this was in fact a den type area.

Where the kitchen bench is was a wall knocking that wall was always what I would have done.

Outdoor Kitchen's

We had dinner at  friend's house the other night  - they have the best outdoor kitchen area - it is a separate pavilion linked to the main house by a covered walk way - it is a full kitchen  - industrial oven, built in BBQ, fridge and sink etc.  It is a great space and at dinner the other night it easily accommodated 24 around the large table - our outdoor space is not so large but I think that we could incorporate a outdoor kitchen type area on the deck - I could see that we would live out there - especially when the pool is finished (another sage but I have learnt a lesson in patience)!!

Landfill Harmonic

Inspiring, thought provoking, and very humbling...

Grand Designs - Kathryn Tyler

It looks like Grand Designs is on a sabbatical for Australian viewers at the moment - (well at least for free to air people - we don't have pay TV) - so to get my GD fix I have been web surfing - I love this house that was designed and decorated by the owner Kathryn Tyler-  she was able to use the rear (albeit steep and somewhat hard to access) land at the rear of her parents home to build her Scandinavian inspired eco house!! She project managed herself and came under budget and on time - I really like what she had created..

Holidays..

At last I am on holidays - it has been hard to get to work when the rest of your family is fast asleep and you are walking out to face the work day - but I am on leave - four weeks leave just hanging out at home with the kids, doing nothing  - well not quite nothing, shall spend the time getting the house in order -was only able to take four day leave since we moved so am relishing the fact that I now have the time to get organised .....obviously need to fit that around catching up with friends, time at the beach, time at the river.....
